help loading up files through ftp pro

I can connect fine using my site ip as the ftp address, however after i upload the files they aren't showing up on my actually site when i type in my domain in internet explorer. this is my first webpage so i'm a rookie, help!

it doesnt sound like your domain has propagated or your not putting the files in the right directory

when you ftp in you should see a directory named 'mainwebsite_html'...you should go into that directory and put your files there

or

when did you register the domain or if it was already registered..when did you change the dns? either way it will take 24 to 72 hrs to propagate...in the mean time you can log into your cp and go to 'site information' under 'tools' and click on 'domain preview'

To FTP Before your site has propogated, you can FTP directly to your server IP address (not sure, I think you're on ensim2) - your login information will work that way.
