I run a website through HostPC and I'm hoping to start running a program which requires me to create a MySQL database with a name, username and password. I have no idea how to do this, and I was hoping that someone could help give me a runthrough of what I need to do.

Yeah, go into DirectAdmin and click the MySQL Management link, there you set up the db name, user name and password...

I have a similar question, so I didn't think a new thread was necessary.
I'm starting to advance past MS Frontpage, and am looking at running WebCalendar. http://sourceforge.net/projects/webcalendar I thought it looked nicer than the calendar programs that have been setup through Installatron. (Enough substance for now. I'm looking to add flashy stuff.):D
The cookbook-style instructions I have give information on how to set up the database and tables using phpMyAdmin, but when I log in there, it says I have No Privileges to Create a Database. I was able to create a database using the MySQL admin area, but it looks like the phpMyAdmin would give me more settings for the user.
Is the MySQL area the only place to create a database, or did I login to PHP with a limited account?
Thanks,
Paul

You'll first have to create the database following dB's instructions above. Then you can log into phpmyadmin to add tables and such.

Okely dokely, then.
I've been watching Simpsons reruns too much lately.
Got it working fine. Thanks,
Paul
