View Full Version : How Do You Get The Ipaddress Of The Name Servers?
A registrar I am dealing with requires the ipaddress as well as the domain of the name server of the web host. Is there an easy and sure way to get the right one without putting in a ticket every time?
if use windows ... open the command prompt
ping ns37a.hostpc.com
Pinging ns37a.hostpc.com [72.35.72.108]

Thanks! For some reason I though the servers kill any ping requests.

The server may not respond to a ping request (and you will see it timeout) but the ping command will usually display the IP address that is being pinged.
You could also just go to www.dnsstuff.com and use there reverse NS lookup.
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ptr.ch?ip=ns37a.hostpc.com
returns
Reverse DNS for 72.35.72.108
