Greetings and salutations are joyously extended to our loyal customers and onlookers!!
As you know, on no particular schedule, I tend to provide updates on the growth and future of HostPC. This is one of those updates, so pick up your favorite softdrink, put your feet up and enjoy my ramblings for a couple of minutes. :)
HostPC is getting ready to celebrate our SEVENTH anniversary this November, and with our advanced years behind us, we're setting some rather ambitious goals for the next couple of months.
Sitebuilder and Blogware. These two applications have been added to our aresenal and we hope to have a major rollout of these services by September 1. We had anticipated rolling them out much faster, but we are working with tucows to integrate MANY of their offerings into ours, and we want everything to be PERFECT for our launch. These are HOT products that I think will greatly enhance the quality of HostPC. We've got a small handful of people testing the systems now, and the response so far has been fairly positive. Obviously I'm a bit embarassed that it's taken this long to get it going - and for that I apologize.
Billing. Our billing system is our number one headache at the moment. We're slowing getting everyone on track, but we are making progress. This leads us to our next item.
Customer Datacenter. This datacenter is our own in house design which contains all our customer information, renewal and billing history, server specifics for each domain, etc. This was developed by one of our staff members (Ryan). We're working VERY hard with him to bring our helpdesk system into this database, as well as our billing system. My objectives for this are to make it a "one stop datacenter" that the customer can login to, see their current status - upgrade packages, add features, order NEW services, update billing information, etc. We hope to have a client side interface available VERY soon. The final product, which I hope is ready for our Birthday Bash will be 100% secure, 100% accurate and 100% user friendly. I'm VERY excited about this particular project and it has 90% of our efforts devoted to it currently.
New website design contest. If you've gotten this far in my ramblings, we're looking for a new site design for HostPC.com This new design must be user friendly, easy to manage and easy for new and existing customers to navigate. Anyone who's interested in showing off an example of how they think HostPC.com should look - please post a mock up as a followup to this thread. Mid September or so, we'll take all the mock ups, and put them to a vote by the registered users of this forum. The winning design will be awarded with $100 CASH and one year of FREE budget hosting. ANYONE is eligible to participate - so show us what you've got and you could WIN! (Winner will be asked to convert some (but not all) content from the current site to the new).
That's it I guess for now. I would like to take this time to thank each and every customer for their continued support and dedication to HostPC. Each customer is an asset to us, and we hopefully have met, or exceeded your expectations. If we have, tell your friends - if we haven't tell US!
