I've installed a product called CLAM AV on www6 ... it should notify you of any incoming viruses.

Clam AntiVirus is an anti-virus toolkit written from scratch. It is licensed under GNU GPL2 and uses the virus database from OpenAntiVirus, which is an another free anti-virus project. In contrast to OpenAntiVirus (which is written in Java), Clam AntiVirus is written entirely in C and its database is KEPT UP TO DATE. It also detects polymorphic viruses as well.

If there are any issues, good or bad - or you can provide feedback, please let me know.

Thanks

Joe

Not hearing any issues, I've now installed this on all servers for your protection.

Errr... Stupid question maybe, but does this mean all incoming mail is scanned and tagged (or rejected) if a virus is detected??

If it is.... I'd be very happy :D :D :D
'cause I had al lot of work last half year already fighting viruses and/ or warning for viruses send through my domains...

No, it's not rejected. The header of the message will simply say "{Virus?} Subject.... "

It'll be flagged so you have to go an extra step to actually get the file - you'll notice it when it comes in.

I am very much against ISP's / Hosts that filter your mail based on what THEY want to filter by. I don't like AOL's spam control, I don't like many of the virus packages out there - but ClamAV and Spamcop both leave control to the user - where it belongs.

G'day.
