Part of the business plan at HostPC is to put an end to prepaid yearly hosting, and move to a monthly billing cycle. This will insure that HostPC is bringing in a consistent monthly income, a predictable amount monthly to insure continued prosperity.

Our plan calls for no yearly payments by our 5 year anniversary, which is coming up in November.

We'll be having one more BIG sale, probably for the Labor Day / Back to School time. Yearly payments will cease at that point.

If you currently are paying yearly, you can continue to pay yearly for the life of your account. This won't change. You're enjoying 12 months for the price of 10, and in keeping with our promise, your rates won't change - essentially, you're grandfathered into this policy.

If you're currently on monthly billing, and you want to change to Yearly Billing, you'll have until September 5, 2003 to convert. To receive a link for your individual yearly billing, please e-mail support@hostpc.com

After September 5, 2003 - there will be no more yearly billings (except for existing clients) , no exceptions.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Joe

#1--I don't run the place. (funny)

If my opinion means anything...anything that means that hostpc will remain around is fine with me...(too many disappearing places)

--but...

-- I might be a rare person but monthly billing turns me into a nervous wreck. There are so many factors that can screw up a monthly payment. Did anybody ever miss a utility payment...a credit card payment...any personal bills.....over some mistake? (definition of mistake...endless..)

Now if somebody has a grandfathered account and 342 years of time put into a website? Loose everything if they are in the hospital at billing time?

Often even credit cards will expire with many caught by surprise.Often a credit card will even zap your account and they never notify people.

Yearly? TIME to pay ahead and TIME to see payment processed ok. ==and get nervous only once a year.....

No snibble here considering I'm on yearly now.--just opinions....

As of now I'm looking for hosting for 2 accounts I have at another webhosting company that I have lost patience with.(grandfathered accounts which every year it takes 50 million hours to convince idiots of the plan your on---plus other problems..)

Just possibly a personal quirk but hate monthly plans !!!!!

Accounts? All I have personally done is realize the free internet is dead and bought a few accounts for my personal sites. 2 at hostpc..2 elsewhere...couple other elsewhere....THATS MY BUDGET MAXIMUM. (all yearly plans grandfathered)

Will this sale take place before the yearly billings cease?

Ideal situation: I want to take advantage of the sale, but would prefer to pay yearly. Will this be possible?

(I missed the 4th of july sale by a few days. "Darn." <--- Expressing my rage in a board appropriate manner.)

:) Yes, this will be just prior to the end of yearly billing ... so you'll be ok.

Contact me via e-mail if you need to move before the sale dates.

Due to overwhelming customer feedback, I've revised our business plan slightly. We will continue to allow yearly signups on all packages for those that are interested.

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks Joe.

Now I need to work on my own business plan so I'll have some cash (and clients) to sign up for more space.

In a previous e-mail by Joe, he said, "If you currently are paying yearly, you can continue to pay yearly for the life of your account. This won't change. I am a yearly customer and believe I am still at the old rate of $3.99/month starter plan. My current year expires in October; how do I go ahead and pay my bill? Do I just go into Paypal, make the payment and tell you what I'm doing in the comments box?

Is there is a page I can go to that summarizes my account status so I can keep track of it?

Hi Eric,

You last paid by check on 12/10 ... you'll get an invoice from us by 12/1 for another year. Your domain name MAY expire separately ... you might want to check that.
