Our new site creator functions are due to be finished in the next day or two, but I thought I'd share a couple features / specs / previews of the package. This package has a number of prebuilt scripts included with it like Blogs, Photo Galleries, Web Site Applications, Business Applications, Web Site Templates, E-Commerce, Content Management, Database tools, Dev Tools and Libraries and Javascripts.

The online site creator will allow you to make websites with ease using a simple 'Drag and Drop' approach, where you simply click on the element of the web page you would like to move or edit.

With real-time php and javascript execution and multi-os, multi-browser support this tool pays for itself, adding support for ecommerce, informational, personal, and business based websites.
FEATURE

Some of the features of this product are as follows:
* Drag and Drop support
* Real-time PHP&Javascript parsing
* PHP based end-files
* E-commerce capabilities
* Available Templates
* Browser-Based
* MySQL support
* Quick script & package addition
* Access to page source code
* Unlimited number of pages
* Beginner & Advanced modes
* Tutorials Available
FEATURE
Websites created with site creator don't include any frames.

The websites created are made of layers and tables. Frames are used only within the webapplication - to allow you to create easily your website.

The coding generated is HTML and for the scripts, some PHP. It uses CSS stylesheets for the formatting.

Contrary to websites created with other Online website creators, the website created is evolutive.

At first you you just add a few pictures and change the content of a template.

When later you will need to sell products you will be able to add a shopping cart.

If later he wants to add interactivity to his site he can add a livechat, build forms.

And when his business is picking up and his websites needs a database to be managed, Sitecreator will still be there to satisfy his need with a powerful database creation tool and a content admin.

Drag and Drop Sitecrator is all you need to go on the web.
FEATURE
You are free to add any feature you want to the website you create with Sitecreator. The result will be professionnal. You can call a webdesigner to work on the look with the Sitecreator. But the website will remain completely accessible to the client and he will be able to modify the content by himself. He can have a programmer develop a database with our sitecreator, but the client will be the one adding or removing product from his listing.

The client is empowered at every stage of the site creation. Any improvement wish he can have will be available. The openess of our software allows everything imagination can plan. And match exactly your client online needs. His satisfaction will turn him into a long term client for you.
FEATURE

Your clients can build a website with a shopping cart and a paypal button easily. He can add forms to your pages easily as well. He can build and manage a database / listing of products. He can update any element of his website. He can give a title to his page, put a description for search engine to find/describe his , create links, modify the formating (CSS stylesheets), etc,... this without writing meta tags or any lines in HTML. But if he prefers at some point to work on the code itself, Site Creator allows him to do it as well. He is absolutely free to go the easy or the hard way.

And now imagine. You can tell your customer that he can have any person updating his company website at anytime (while he put access restrictions to some or all of the elements of the website as he wishes)... this lowers even more the cost to maintain a website in the long term. Your client no longer needs to have a webmaster working full time on the website. Every person working in the company - or outside if it is desired - becomes a webmaster and update in real time the website.

Don't forget that there is also a powerful content administration included with this software which allows easy updates and maintenance of the website databases / listing.

Finally your customers can benefit from scripts already written for them in PHP. E-commerce scripts are available by thousands on freshmeat.com for instance. And with Drag and Drop Sitecreator all you do is to download them and click install... and they are ready to use.

Your clients won't find a better tool to build an e-commerce.

Again, we'll be launching this service before the end of the week.

This sounds even more exciting then many other site builders. I may have missed it somewhere in the post or in prior posts regarding this, but is this a HostPC created project or a 3rd party, if it's not too personal to ask?

Well done overall, and a great big "Merci!" to HostPC for this & all the other hard work

2 thumbs up

This is handled via a 3rd party provider, installed to our servers, so everything remains in house.

Thanks for the compliments :)

There was a slight delay, but we should have it up and online tomorrow sometime.

Thanks for your patience.

It will be an add-on that you purchase, so it won't just appear in your control panel. As Joe said above, the controls will be on another site.

This sounds like it will be a great feature, I can't wait!

Is/will there be a place we can demo this before we buy?

How will this work with resellers, will we just pay once or will we have to pay for each of our users?

Any update when this will be available?

Sound promising for part-time and novice programmers.. I spend 10 to 12 hours a day making a living, so don't have time to write this stuff myself..

coupla questions:

Pricing?

ETA?

:D

Joe

ETA? Today.

Pricing - likely just a one time setup fee per domain, I'm thinking $10, but I'll nail that price down later today when this is announced.

I'm REALLY sorry about this delay, it's entirely my fault. The software is all installed, I just need to call them and finalize the admin area... I'll try to do it shortly.

Just as a followup, the company installing this package didn't feel comfortable putting it on the server we had intended (a couple private accounts on it) - so I put a dedicated box online, just for it, and they're installing now... it should be ready this evening.

Dear Hostpc customers,

I am Michael Frappier from SQLFusion.

I first want to thank you and Joe for your excitement in using Drag drop site creator. We are getting extremely positive feedbacks from end-users and got the product praised in a recent article of Ping!Zine, so I believe you will be impressed and pleased when the install will be completed. We have both non technical users and web designer using it today.

We are finalizing the install currently - we want the system to be stable and run smoothly for all of you - and hopefully get it to work within a day or two.

I want to make clear that the delay incurred is our full responsibility and not caused by HostPC. I stated to Joe that we would get the install ready and working sooner but unfortunately got to make some adjustments on which we are presently working.

Please reach me directly at michael [at] sqlfusion [dot] com if you have any question I could answer in the meantime. I will try to keep you up to date.

My sincere apologies to all of you. I hope Drag drop site creator will please you when ready to go.

Drag drop site creator is up an ready to use. Joe should be able to give you access to it shortly. Please feel free to ask me any question you might have while using it. For the most talented of you, here are some examples of websites which have been created with the software: www.sheabutter.com and www.americawelcome.com

You can go pretty far with the software, so we hope you will enjoy it and make the best out of it!

:)

For the record, it is now 12:15AM ET, and the application still is not working, even from their server. They are apparently trying to get it online, but so far, it is NOT ready for customer use.

Thank you very much. So we should be fine, at least the software is working and accessible. We now need to understand why there is a problem in Boca Raton with those two URLs... who said that internet is worldwide? Apparently Florida is out of the world :)

I'm confused. Is it on your server, Joe, or on theirs? It isn't something we install in our account, I take it. It's a program on a dedicated hostpc server, I'm assuming, that writes html pages into my hosting account.

Joe

You actually create the program through this site (which is hosted on our servers), and then it FTP's the data to your site. It's not something you install TO your site.
