View Full Version : Transferring Domain... Any Way To Speed It Up?

I recently switched to hostpc from another web provider because it supports PHP and MySQL and the rates were drastically less than what I was paying before.

Anyways, I had to transfer my domain, which was registered with register.com with my old host, to hostpc's registry system, and I was told that this would take 5 business days.

I wanted to know if there's anything I can do to speed this process up?

What is the domain name you are transferring?

It is deceptivegenius.com

On that subject, I never got any confirmation emails for signing up - I transferred the domain name, and purchased the $30 yearly plan, I was wondering if I should be expecting anything.

Thanks!

[/b][/quote] You should have received several confirmation emails. Check your junk email box and if you don't find the confirmation messages there, please open a ticket at http://helpdesk.hostpc.com

I got the Signup Reciept last night at 11:30, although I never got a confirmation reciept, probably because the domain name was still registered then. I guess I just wanted to know if everything's still going to plan.

Thanks for your help :-D

Just an update, I recieved the confirmation and everything a few days ago, and have gotten my IP address. I just wanted to know if any of the hostpc guys knew what day I could expect the deceptivegenius.com domain to come through to hostpc. I was hoping today, but if it doesn't today will I have to wait for Monday? Or does this stuff still process during the weekend?

Thanks for all your help so far,
Austin Zentz

It's really best to open a support ticket for these kinds of issues through our Helpdesk (http://helpdes.hostpc.com) .

In this case, the reply from the current registrar is:

Canceled - Domain is locked at current registrar, or is not yet 60 days old

If it's older than 60 days old, contact your current registrar to release the HOLD / LOCK on it and try the transfer again. you wont be charged for the failed attempt.

Ohhh...

It's less than 60 days old :( - only around 10. Does that mean I won't be able to transfer it for almost two months?

Correct, this is a standard security precaution with registrars. Check back in a couple of months.
