We've been VERY successult with the DirectAdmin packages, and I anticipate we'll have the DA servers on for a LOOOONNNNNG time. We've got lifetime licenses, and we're very pleased with 95% of the product. Not being one that likes to settle for "second best", we're working on a new Control Panel offering to be released in the very near future.

I'm not going to mention thename of the panel yet, but here's why I'm considering it strongly.

It's just as secure as DirectAdmin
It's got a built in CHROOT environment, needed for SSH offerings
It uses COURIER-IMAP for IMAP (1000% better than UW That DA uses)
It uses Q-Mail as the mail handler
Built in Spamassassin
Built in AntiVirus
Horde Webmail
Jailed/chroot-ed FTP
FTP Sub-user jailing

Real-time Bandwidth Stats (per service)
Real-time Storage Stats (per service)
Webalizer Stats
AWStats Stats
Downloadable Transfer Logs
CGI Error Logs

Website File Management

WYSIWYG HTML Editor
Password Protect Directories
Create/Edit/Delete Files
Single/Multi ASCII/binary File Transfers
Filename/Full Text Search
Multi File Search and Replace
Basic UNIX Command Support (chmod, tar, gzip, etc.)

Server Statistics
Accurate Server-wide Real-time Bandwidth Metering
User definable e-mail alerts for key resource thresholds
Real-time Logs Stored for 1 Year for Trend Analysis

The bottom line here is DirectAdmin is an EXCELLENT control panel for most people. There are some that want or need more control, more features, etc. So we're going to offer you a choice! You choose which CP you want to use. Our default will be DirectAdmin. The choice will be this "other" panel.

If all works out right, we'll be able to offer this at the same attractive price that HostPC is known for, and the same great level of support. To do that, we need a bit of time. Time to get pricing nailed down, techs trained in the new system, and new servers populated with this CP.

You've asked for some improvements, we're coming through for you - VERY SOON!

I'll update more here when we've got solid details.

I'm looking for 5 (only FIVE) current customers to try out our newest panel.

Specifically, I want experienced (advanced) customers that will be able to test the following, and provide feedback on:

IMAP
Spam Filtering
AV Filtering
File Editor
Horde Webmail

and secondarily, the other features of the control panel. Consider this a beta test - the server, at this point could go up/down/belly up at any time, so make sure you keep backups of your data, etc.

My techs are _not_ trained on this server yet - so support will be limited.

as long as you know and understand these issues, please open a helpdesk ticket, or meet me in IRC chat and I'll setup the account (i'll need a domain name, username, password and off-site email address). this _must_ be a Fully qualified domain name at this point, I dont want any subdomains, or pointers, etc.

If you're interested, please let me know.

Joe

One thing I forgot to mention, Front Page is NOT available on this server.

I've got one tester already, looking for 4 more.

Actually, I meant to update this thread earlier today.

We've decided, based on user feedback and administration opinion that this control panel isn't going to be a good addition to our lineup at this point. There are too many "if only..." questions/statements popping up.

A number of "features" that we offer on DirectAdmin servers (multiple domains on one account, lack of client dns management, email speeds, no SSH, welcome emails automatically generated when clients signup, no reseller accounts, etc).

I'll keep an eye on Interworx as a possible addition to our lineup at a later time (they're sure to grow and increase the capability of their panel), but right now, it's just not going to work out for us.

Thanks for the volunteers.

Joe
