A user's script on the WWW15 server was recently compromised by a spammer who sent out thousands of unsolicited email messages.
This has caused the WWW15 server to be listed at Spamcop, one of the major spam alerting services used by filtering companies.
If you are on this server using SMTP or webmail to send mail, you may experience outgoing mail bounced at its destination by servers who use filtering that subscribes to the Spamcop spam database service.
We have eliminated the source of the exploit, but there is nothing else HostPC can do to prevent your email from bouncing if you are on this server until the Spamcop listing is cleared. According to Spamcop "If there are no reports of ongoing objectionable email from this system it will be delisted automatically in approximately* 6 hours." Since there are thousands of emails out there from this compromised script, we estimate that this could take at least a day before the Spamcop block is cleared.
If you have a pressing need to send email to an address blocked by Spamcop, you may want to consider using your ISP's SMTP settings as a temporary measure to get around the block. This will enable you to continue using your domain as the return address.
If you are a WWW15 client who would like to move to another server here because of the inconvenience of the Spamcop listing, please feel free to open a helpdesk ticket.
We will update this thread when we learn that the block is cleared.
