I'm scheduling an upgrade on all servers from Redhat v9 to Fedora Core 3. It's tentatively scheduled for this weekend (Saturday, early morning ET). We'll do one production server, test it and if everything works correctly, we'll roll with it on all servers immediatelly.

When we begin, each server will be ofline for 10-15 minutes as the upgrade is in progress and it's rebooted. We'll have backups in place to restore immediately should anything go "wacky". This upgrade will nto require any interaction on your part - but as always, we recommend you make a good backup of all your accounts prior to this upgrade.

If you have any questions, please let us know here in the forums. I'll confirm the date and time ASAP

Thanks

Joe

I have a question guys? After we make these backups, should we then save them on our pc or is it safe to leave them where they are in direct admin?

Best bet is to always have a recent copy on your computer (ie download them).

Every night, HostPC backups up to an off-site raid enabled server for all hosting (not reseller) accounts. At ANY time, any one of these backups may fail - for any reason - so we ALWAYS suggest you have your own backups. We do our best, but nothing is perfect with computers - when it's most inconvenient, plan on it happening :)
