We've started ordering new servers with Redhat Fedora Core 2 installed, and so far, performance is stellar! These should prove to be our fastest servers yet!!

Why the choice to go to Fedora Core 2? FC3 is out and everything that I have read about it says that FC3 is better than FC2. Granted, I haven't used either myself yet, and the reviews were somewhat slanted to a user point of view instead of a server P.O.V. Still, FC2 will only have official support from the Fedora Project for about another 6 months, so why not go with the one that will have their support the longest.
Also, why not one of the RedHat Enterprise Clones, like CentOS or Whitebox or the others? I can understand not wanted to pay the HIGH costs to go with full RedHat Enterprise server, but I have heard some pretty good things about its clones.
I am not complaining about the upgrade, in fact, I am still running RedHat 9 myself on a few different boxes, so I need to upgrade myself. I am mostly just curious why FC2 was choosen.
