I searched through the forums and couldn't find this info. What's the maximum size allowed for an email attachment on HostPC servers? Is this setting adjustable by domain and if so, how?

Thanks!

I believe its setup by default at either 3 or 4 MB... thats so that people with dialup connections don't get bombed with attachments they'll never get.

Thanks Joe. I certainly understand the reasoning behind the limit. Is that limit something we have control over or do you mandate that limit for everyone?

Thats something thats set by default on the server with DirectAdmin, I never saw a need to change it. If you're sending a file that big, my suggestion would be to upload it to your webspace, and provide the recipient with a link to download it. That way they can get it at their leisure without tying up their mailserver.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to convince a client to get an account here. I know they send file attachments but I'm not sure how big they are. None of the people involved are computer literate enough to do it "the right way" like you suggest. Hopefully it won't be an issue but I wanted to know what the boundaries would be ahead of time. Thanks again!
