Just to familarize myself with Postnuke - I installed in in a sub-Directory below my HTML Public folder - www.mydomain.com/postnuke Now, I would rather it be accessable directly from my Domain root - www.mydomain.com Of course I could just copy everything form the Sub-Directory directly to the WEBROOT and see if everything work.... But, perhaps there would be some path problems more experienced PHP programmers in this forum would alert me too??
THX,
-Mike-
UPDATE ! Just tried to copy Sub-D to Webroot -- can't move whole folders with DirectAdmin :o
I haven't used Postnuke so I don't know, but I've worked with other php packages so I'll take a guess:
Doesn't it store the data in a database? If so, you leave the database alone, and you just move the files in the directory like you said. And those shouldn't be affected by the directory they're in except for one file - the 'config.php'. You can either open it and correct the base URL, and then transfer all the files to the new location. Or, forget them and do a standard install (start over) in the new location - when you do that you put in the new and correct path. Does that make sense?

I believe you are correct, SIR! B) But, since I can't copy entire folders ...I think it would just be EZ'er to just reinstall PN into the desire path and set things up again -as you suggest- .... I have learned a few things... However, I am not much on PHP at this point. Just got familiar with PNuke's Admin and Module installtion. Can't really say as to what would have been a better choice for CMS. I looked at PHP-Nuke, MD-pro, phpWebSite and Postnuke. Pros and Cons for each.... THANKS FOR THE HELP!
OK, so it sounds like what you do is reinstall it, while keeping the current database. If it works the way it sounds, the new installation will look exactly like what you have now, and no data will be lost.
By the way, if you use an FTP program like WS_FTP95 (it's free), it's easy to download the directory to your local computer and then upload it back to where you want it. Sounds like you aren't FTPing and you're using the control panel instead. The control panel is good for some things, but FTPing is better for others (IMO).

 Why didn't I think about FTP'n!!! As a matter of fact WS_ftp is the one I have used for years :D Great for moving Linux distros... and quite a number of times on my account with hostpc!!! Just didn't think about moving the whole structure to my machine and then back to webroot!! HOW SIMPLE! HOW GENIUS! I SHOULD HAVE THOUGH OF THAT! THX!
